📍 Marie Cowser Memorial Park - Auburn Avenue NE
Apple Private but overhanging
🗓 Season: August · September · October · November
🔍 When is it ripe?
Background colour changes from green to yellow or cream (variety determines final colour). Seeds inside should be brown. Flesh yields slightly to thumb pressure. A ripe apple releases with a gentle upward twist — no pulling. Check the ground for natural drops.
Large apple tree with lots of fruit in Marie Cowser Memorial Park, on Auburn Avenue near the intersection with Randolph Street. Picked an apple from the tree in June (yeah, too early), but it was actually pretty good. This tiny park belongs to the Historic District Development Corporation, but is essentially a public space.
