🔍 When is it ripe?
Red to yellow, about 2 cm across. Tart-sweet when ripe; flesh softens and the fruit falls readily. Good raw or cooked. Watch for early drop — often ready by mid-August.
Numerous mature flowering quince produce fruit here throughout the vast swaths of Chinese privet. Locate in early spring by flowers and return summer to get fruit. Also found 1 loaded plum tree.
