🔍 When is it ripe?
Flowering quince: Hard, yellow-green to yellow fruit resembling a small quince. Inedible raw but highly fragrant and excellent for quince paste or jam. Ripe when fully yellow and aromatic.
Japanese flowering quince: Small, very hard, yellow-green fruit. Too tart and astringent raw but fragrant and good for jelly or flavouring liqueur. Ripe when yellow and strongly scented.
6-8 flowering quinces, mostly healthy, large size
