🔍 When is it ripe?
Uniformly red with no white or green at the tip or shoulder. Strong strawberry fragrance even from a distance. Cap leaves (calyx) are fresh and green. Completely red flesh inside when cut. Wild strawberries are smaller but more intensely flavoured.
Food forest. It's got pears, apples, raspberries, mushrooms, serviceberries, carrots, strawberries, beans, etc.. Open to the public. Harvests go to food pantries for the poor, so take only your share. Workers seem happy to teach you all about what they're doing, and how you can ID or Produce your own food.
