Privet berry thickets run along the Northbank Trail. These winter-time berries are small, pellet-shaped, dark blue and hardy, not juicy. Peeling the skin off of the inner flesh stains skin a deep purple. NOT EDIBLE, a natural dyeing ingredient with potential to produce blue, green, pale gold and possibly violet dyes.
