🔍 When is it ripe?
Harvest when the green husk turns yellow-green and the nut falls naturally or can be shaken loose. Wear gloves — the husk stains permanently. Remove husk immediately, then cure nuts in a cool, airy place for 2–3 weeks before cracking. Intensely flavoured.
Medium size tree, okay yield. Definitely a 2 person and a ladder/step stool job. But I'm short so it could be a 1 (tall) person job as well. Foraged enough to make a gallon of Nocino from this tree
