🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep red haws (berries) develop from green. Ripe when dark red and slightly soft. Edible raw but mealy — better for haw jelly, syrup, or wine. Contains a large stone. Improve after first frost.
There are two trees towards the back of the Proxi parking lot and adjacent trash bin lot. They were past their prime in mid December because of the heavy frost/freezes at night recently. Both trees are heavily loaded.
