🔍 When is it ripe?
Must be fully ripe (very soft, almost jelly-like) before eating. Harvest after first frost or when naturally falling. Dark orange to purple when ready. Rich, caramel-sweet flavour.
American persimmon tree. There were a lot of persimmons on 11/4/22, but many of them were high up on the tree. The persimmons were still somewhat astringent, even after letting them sit on the counter for a few days after picking them.
