🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep purple-black when ripe; intensely flavoured and juicy. Spread a tarp and shake the tree — ripe fruits fall immediately. Stains everything permanently — wear old clothes. Do not pick unripe red berries (mildly hallucinogenic).
Stepping stone dam. When you park by the dam and follow the path you will eventually get to a bridge over the Flint River. Right across the bridge if you walk down the side there is a mulberry tree that looks like it was cut or riped in half at some point but is still alive and producing fruit.
