Gumweed

📍 Pinecrest Road, Campbell River (BC)
Gumweed Public
Gumweed is an herb that has been used as a traditional medicine by the California Native Americans. People dry the leaves and top of the plant to make medicine for coughing and other throat conditions. Traditionally, 2 grams of chopped or powdered gumweed, or 2 milliliters of the fluid extract has been used. Based on 80 years of clinical experience and thousands of years of use by California Native Americans, gumweed has a low rate of adverse effects in most healthy people, *although* this has not been confirmed by clinical trials. Other Names: August Flower, Grindelia, Grindelia camporum, Grindelia Herb, Grindelia robusta, Grindelia squarrosa, Grindeliae Herba, Grindélie, Grindélie Robuste, Grindélie Squarreuse, Gum Weed, Gumweed Herb, Herbe à Gomme, Rosin Weed, Tar Weed.
