🔍 When is it ripe?
Bright to dark red haws. Harvest when fully red and slightly soft. Young leaves (May) and flowers are also edible. Haws best for jelly; one large seed per berry.
Four or five hawthorn trees, berries are good to make ketchup with 500g berries 300ml cider vinegar 300ml water Sugar Boil berries in vinegar and water until squishy (about 40 mins) Sieve, then add clear juice back to pan with sugar until sugar dissolved
