🔍 When is it ripe?
Turns red, yellow, or purple depending on variety; flesh gives slightly under thumb pressure. Taste-test — ripe ones are sweet-tart with little astringency. Drops easily from stem when gently twisted.
Produces a lot of fruit which is ripe in early to mid July. On private property, but the tree overhangs the sidewalk, and ripe fruit falls on the ground
