🍎
Apple (Malus)
📍 4315 W 6th Ave, Vancouver, BC V6R 4M9, Canada
🗓 Season: August · September · October · November
🔍 When is it ripe?
Background skin colour shifts from green toward yellow; seeds turn brown when ripe. Fruit separates from the spur with a gentle upward twist. Aroma develops near the base. Wild Malus fruit is often small and tart — excellent for cider and jelly.
Two trees with very red firm fleshed apples. Lots of fallen fruit. Good for applesauce. Apples would require ladder to pick - they are located in a public park. Fruit on ground is bruised and many have scab on their peel. Ripe September through October. Apparently the first year these trees have borne fruit abundantly in a very long time.
