🔍 When is it ripe?
Round, strawberry-textured red or orange fruit. Flowers and last year's fruit ripen simultaneously. Ripe when deep red and very soft; gritty texture and mild sweet flavour. Good for jam and brandy. Overripe fruit ferments on the tree — slightly intoxicating.
Big bushes/small trees all over in this courtyard. They don't taste great alone, but you can make jam or put them in fruit bread. The fruit are ripe when deep red.
