🔍 When is it ripe?
Rose hips (swollen seed pods) ripen to red or orange after flowering. Pick when fully coloured and slightly soft. Remove the seeds and hairs inside (irritating). Very high in vitamin C; excellent for syrup, tea, and jelly. Leave some for birds in winter.
white - petals just fall to the breeze - edible petals that would go to waste from the wind if not eaten. Be careful when picking - taking 1 petal could lead many petals to drop at one time.
