🔍 When is it ripe?
Dense clusters of orange or red berries. Edible but very seedy and mealy; best cooked into jelly. Ripe when fully coloured. Shrub has sharp spines — wear gloves.
Firethorn tree in Dunbar Close (turn right after entering). Not sure when they normally fruit but a decent amount of berries in January.
