🔍 When is it ripe?
Small apples ripen from green to red, yellow, or orange by variety. Very tart raw but excellent for jelly and cider. Ripe when the colour is fully developed and the fruit lifts off with a gentle twist.
The entire stretch between Atherton and Mule Deer (and a few down Mule Deer) is planted with edible crabapple trees. They belong to the subdivision, so nobody cares if you take some.
