🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep purple-black when ripe; intensely flavoured and juicy. Spread a tarp and shake the tree — ripe fruits fall immediately. Stains everything permanently — wear old clothes. Do not pick unripe red berries (mildly hallucinogenic).
Healthy mulberry tree on the right side of the main road. On the left side there is a turn-off into a parking lot, after the stop signs for the trail but before the fork in the road. It's in a conservation park, so the animals usually get to it before the humans can.
