🔍 When is it ripe?
Dark blue-black clusters when ripe. Cook thoroughly before eating — raw berries are mildly toxic. Ripe when all berries are dark and clusters hang downward.
Two large elderberry trees(?) on the far side of the creek from the bike trails. They are on private property but are currently overhanging a long ways across the creek and one could easily pick from the creek bed.
