🔍 When is it ripe?
Dark blue-black clusters when ripe. Cook thoroughly before eating — raw berries are mildly toxic. Ripe when all berries are dark and clusters hang downward.
There's an elder tree overhanging the road about halfway along Gondar Gardens. Have only visited it to harvest elderflowers so I don't know about the berries. In May, lots of flowers overhanging public land and high quality for cordial-making.
