Tangelo (Citrus x tangelo 'Minneola')

Tangelo (Citrus x tangelo 'Minneola') Private but overhanging
This is specifically a minneola tangelo. It gets extremely orange to almost red - easy peel, larger than an orange and tastes better too. A rarity that is hard to beat - tastes almost jungly. The center where a navel normally is is the best. Usually is overrun by vermin if you don't pick it - so it's best to pick it to avoid that! Well they very easily come off the tree and make a mess on the sidewalk - all for a forager's delight! Best eaten and picked when it's sunkissed - around june. That said it's very hot in june - so it's a risk to a high reward. Realize this is what people call a honeybell - they go for quite asking rates when sold.
