🔍 When is it ripe?
Fully black (not red or dark red) and comes off the stem with no resistance — zero pull. Dull rather than shiny; a shiny black berry is still slightly underripe and tart. Eat the same day for best flavour.
Lots of blackberries all along the back of the dog park area and behind the baseball field. There are also a few plants elsewhere in the park, particularly along the back. You can pick several pounds easily. Area gets muddy and I would recommend bug spray.
There are also some grape plants but I haven't seen any fruit on them.
