🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep purple-black when ripe; intensely flavoured and juicy. Spread a tarp and shake the tree — ripe fruits fall immediately. Stains everything permanently — wear old clothes. Do not pick unripe red berries (mildly hallucinogenic).
Overhangs the bike path. Very fruitful, nice and sweet. Best picking if you can pull yourself up to the wall/ledge to get the non-low-hanging berries. Based on how the branches are cut and the placement of the tree within the owners' garden, it would surprise me very much if the berries you take would have been missed by the owners.
