🔍 When is it ripe?
Pick when background colour shifts from green to yellow-green and the stem separates cleanly. Finish ripening indoors — flesh near the stem should give slightly when pressed.
Tall pear tree with lots of pears. It's on someone's property. So ask the homeowners. Or pick up the ones on the grounds. Homeowners should be fine with that since hundreds of pears fall on the ground every year.
