🔍 When is it ripe?
Fully black (not red or dark red) and comes off the stem with no resistance — zero pull. Dull rather than shiny; a shiny black berry is still slightly underripe and tart. Eat the same day for best flavour.
Several large sections of trail in this park have MASSIVE blackberry bushes, to my understanding they used to be part of a farm and have long since become wild since the land has become a park. Can be accessed walking or biking (suggested to bike since walking a couple miles with containers is cumbersome). Can be found July-August (mid July to mid Aug being best if I remember correctly).
