🔍 When is it ripe?
Dark blue-black clusters when ripe. Cook thoroughly before eating — raw berries are mildly toxic. Ripe when all berries are dark and clusters hang downward.
Large elderberry plants around the radio tower at the SW corner of Walnut Grove and Farm road. Wear long pants, because there are some brambles mixed in. Plants are tall, so some climbing and long cutters may be helpful.
