🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep red and glossy; stem pulls cleanly. Taste is the best test — sweet and juicy when ripe, still astringent if picked too early.
In woodland beside the Mere way bridleway, next to the Butt Lane tip. This year (22nd June 2014) the birds seem to have eaten most of them. Many on tall trees. FHP #136
