SO next to the old diggins mine behind town is a massive grove of Chestnuts that fruit. It is sort of on private land, but the place where private land and the public part of the diggins merges here. You'll run into a gate on San Francisco st. It's best to park up at the church and walk around to left entrance of the diggins to get to the grove. You'll know once you're there, for a couple acres, there are chestnuts all over the ground. If you drove in all the way (which you can't) they would be on the left side of the road.
