🔍 When is it ripe?
Green outer husk splits and darkens; nuts fall or shake loose. Remove husks immediately and cure for 2 weeks to develop full flavour. Gloves prevent staining.
Walnut tree. Tree is on private property but most of it overhangs the alleyway. The house is a rental, and the current tenants (summer 2014) are fine with people picking the tree as long as they stay in the alley and do not come in the yard or disturb the tenants.
