Black walnut

📍 124 Richmond St, London, ON N6G 4V2, Canada
Black walnut Private
🗓 Season: September · October
🔍 When is it ripe?
Harvest when the green husk turns yellow-green and the nut falls naturally or can be shaken loose. Wear gloves — the husk stains permanently. Remove husk immediately, then cure nuts in a cool, airy place for 2–3 weeks before cracking. Intensely flavoured.
Within a private Condominium Complex so be respectful of properties! Harvested best when they have just fallen off the tree in September!
