Sage

Sage Private but overhanging
🗓 Season: May · June · July · August
🔍 When is it ripe?
Harvest young, grey-green leaves before or during flowering for best flavour. Woody older leaves are less aromatic. Dry well for year-round use. Flowers are edible as a garnish.
There are three large edible sage bushes here in this yard along the road. Perfect for adding herbs to broth, or meat. The plants appear untouched and unused. There is also Texas Sage (pink blooms) which is not edible, so be sure to pick the right sage! It's on private property, but you may not need to ask permission to gather herbs, as it's at the very edge of the yard on the road. There's also rosemary bushes growing here.
