📍 F5QJ+GR Waterloo, OR, USA
Stinging nettle Public
🗓 Season: March · April · May
🔍 When is it ripe?
Harvest only the top 4–6 young leaves in spring before flowering. Use gloves — sting disappears completely on cooking. Blanch, steam, or make into soup. Do not eat once plant flowers (gets gritty). Highly nutritious — rich in iron and vitamins.
Tons of stinging nettle along the south side of the driveway going to camping loop B. Also tons of stinging nettle to be found along the hiking trails to the south.
