🔍 When is it ripe?
Hangs heavily and droops at the neck; skin softens and may split. A sweet drop of nectar at the base eye and the absence of white sap at the stem confirm ripeness. Pick with a gentle twist.
Fig tree is in someones yard but over hangs onto sidewalk. The *neighbor* just north of the tree (it's not her tree) gets mad if she sees you picking so beware. The tree is usually high yield and it doesn't seem to be picked by the owners.
