🔍 When is it ripe?
The green husk splits into four sections and turns brown when ripe. Shake branches or wait for fall. Cure in a cool, dry place for 2–3 weeks. Kernels should be full and not shrivelled.
walk off of the greenway path and you should see a fairly young pecan tree on the treeline, on the west side of first creek. There is a second tree down the same treeline just north of E. Glenwood, but I'm a little fuzzy as to where the property line of the nearest house ends and the greenway begins. Neither are producing much mature fruit at this point, so they'll be ones to watch in in a couple years.
