🔍 When is it ripe?
European plum: Deep purple with a dusty bloom when ripe. Flesh softens and detaches cleanly from the stone. Sweet, rich flavour. Drops to the ground when fully ripe — check beneath the tree daily.
Sour cherry: Bright to deep red, slightly translucent. Firmer than sweet cherries when ripe. Strong tart flavour — avoid if still pale or streaked green. Harvest before birds; fruits hang briefly after colouring.
Very healthy. A large amount of fruit seen on the tree. Dwarf varieties. Home owner is very happy to share, ask first before picking.
