🔍 When is it ripe?
White to pale pink or lavender when ripe. Very sweet and mild. Falls from the tree when ripe — spread a sheet below and shake. Extremely delicate; eat within hours. Ripe berries stain less than black mulberry but deteriorate even faster.
Fruit is Black Color even though the species is still Morus alba. Tree hangs over low to ground, accessable from ikea parking lot making picking easy peasy lemon sqeazy like deezy. Fruit edible raw or cooked, If it is fully black and falls off easily it is fully ripe and will be very sweet. Otherwise fruit is tart. Remember Red fruit is not ripe, must be black color in order to eat. Fruit ripens June and peaks Mid June. Pick them off by hand or place a tarp to shake tree for fruit.
