🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep purple-black when ripe; intensely flavoured and juicy. Spread a tarp and shake the tree — ripe fruits fall immediately. Stains everything permanently — wear old clothes. Do not pick unripe red berries (mildly hallucinogenic).
Near sidewalk. This is my tree! And I love to share berries with my neighbors.
Berries in July & August, typically. If you'd like to use a ladder or pick whole buckets, please ask first. Smaller amounts, no ask necessary. (Sue)
