Black walnut

📍 5A Riverdale Cir, Concord, MA 01742, USA
Black walnut Public
🗓 Season: September · October
🔍 When is it ripe?
Harvest when the green husk turns yellow-green and the nut falls naturally or can be shaken loose. Wear gloves — the husk stains permanently. Remove husk immediately, then cure nuts in a cool, airy place for 2–3 weeks before cracking. Intensely flavoured.
Multiple black walnut along tree line near trail. Mostly high branches out of reach, but walnuts will still drop and be good pickings.
