🔍 When is it ripe?
Fully black (not red or dark red) and comes off the stem with no resistance — zero pull. Dull rather than shiny; a shiny black berry is still slightly underripe and tart. Eat the same day for best flavour.
Lots of blackberry bushes at the top of Mt Tolmie; around the parking are and over along the east gravel parking area. Some along the trails near the top of the hill too.
Slim pickings by now (September) though.
