🔍 When is it ripe?
Round, yellow-bronze skin. Unlike European pears, eat when still firm — they do not soften at room temperature. Ripe when colour develops fully and a sweet fragrance is detectable. Crisp, juicy flesh.
There are several Asian pear trees on the riverside trail, and this is one of them! The fruit are really small, but there are a lot of them and they’re definitely edible.
