🔍 When is it ripe?
Must be fully ripe (very soft, almost jelly-like) before eating. Harvest after first frost or when naturally falling. Dark orange to purple when ready. Rich, caramel-sweet flavour.
Persimmon tree next to the sidewalk near the light. Unfortunately I haven't been able to take a close look at this tree to verify, but the orange fruit was unmistakable on my daily commute in the fall.
