🔍 When is it ripe?
Clusters of orange-yellow fruit; ripe when fully orange with no green, yields to gentle pressure, and comes off the stem with a slight tug. Very sweet and aromatic when right — mealy if overripe. Short shelf life after picking.
1 medium-large loquat tree next to sidewalk on Oleander, in front of Starbucks. Nice crosswalks/sidewalks for a busy intersection, some low hanging fruit but plenty is out of reach, left for birds. Visited in spring 2021 and harvested several pounds here.
