🔍 When is it ripe?
Small apples ripen from green to red, yellow, or orange by variety. Very tart raw but excellent for jelly and cider. Ripe when the colour is fully developed and the fruit lifts off with a gentle twist.
Crabapple tree in the backyard. Several branches hanging out over the fence that can be harvested. Usually bears fruit around early August? Small and sour but probably good for pies and stuff.
