🔍 When is it ripe?
Deep purple-black, duller than blackberries. Separates from the hollow core like a red raspberry. Richer, more intense flavour than red raspberry. Short season — harvest daily.
There are a TON of wild black raspberries all along the trail on either side. Just keep your eyes peeled!
Generally pretty small and sour, but there were only a few ripe enough on 7/3/2022 to get a decent sampling. Mid- to Late-July may be a better time to harvest.
