🔍 When is it ripe?
Pick leaves year-round; fresh or dried. Mature, dark green leaves have more essential oils than young pale ones. Dry in bunches for full flavour. Black berries in autumn are not edible.
Lots of Bay Trees, good for collecting their nuts or using their leaves as seasoning, which are a bit stronger than store bought bay leaves. They're all around Mill Valley, but this is a great spot.
