🔍 When is it ripe?
Large burs with very sharp spines. Fall naturally when ripe. Easier to peel than European chestnuts. Roast or boil; peel while warm.
Best harvest around September-October. Not sure about access, but it’s right next to a bus stop and nobody collects the nuts.
