Himalayan blackberry
📍 1500 79th Ave SE, Olympia, WA 98501, USA
🗓 Season: July · August · September
🔍 When is it ripe?
Large, fully black berries. Same cues as common blackberry: comes free easily, no red core, dull rather than shiny. Vigorous canes — protect arms when harvesting.
Massive several acre briar located on the northwest corner of the old horse barns. Usually pickable around the end of July to late August. You’ll need a machete to cut yourself a path past the edges because it’s so thick, but it’s worth it. There’s also a smaller 50-60” briar across the street oknthe corner of 79th and Trails End
