🔍 When is it ripe?
Rose hips (swollen seed pods) ripen to red or orange after flowering. Pick when fully coloured and slightly soft. Remove the seeds and hairs inside (irritating). Very high in vitamin C; excellent for syrup, tea, and jelly. Leave some for birds in winter.
Next to the way you can find rose bushes growing on a steep stoneground. They usually good to eat when they turn red sometime around summer. They good for You. They good until next spring or even longer.
