🔍 When is it ripe?
Blue-black berries in flat clusters; cook before eating. Ripe when uniformly dark blue-black and heavy. Also note: elderflowers in June are edible raw and excellent for cordial.
There are what I suspect are elderberry canes in the bush that lines the sidewalk. Needs verification.
