🔍 When is it ripe?
Flowers: pale yellow clusters appear June–July. Harvest when just opening for the best flavour and scent; dry quickly to prevent fermentation. Excellent for linden-flower tea (tilleul). Young leaves (May) are edible raw in salads.
This is the Salad Tree. Leaves are Edible raw or cooked. They are Best when they are Young in Early Spring. They Taste delicious and are a mild green, mucilaginous texture. Older Leaves are not toxic, just bad texture. To Identify it, The leaves are heart shaped with uneven lobes. Flowers have long bracts which are very unique Later in June they produce Flowers which are also edible raw or cooked. These Flowers also make a tea that is sweet and helps you relax and lower anxiety, especially in these times you is gonna need it. The Tree is also Tappable like Maple Syrup however since this is on Public land you probably won't be allowed to, but when Shit Hits the Fan, No one would give to craps unless they want the fresh drinkable water too.
